Scripture: John 11:23-25
Jesus said unto her, thy brother shall rise again.
Martha said unto him, I know he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. And Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in me, though he where dead, he shall yet live.
I want to officially welcome you to the month of April. This month is our month of the Resurrection and the life. I am sure we had a beautiful Easter celebration? While we are still recovering from all of the many events, it is important we know what this season actually means and how it impact us today. As God give us grace this month I will be unveiling to you, the power of resurrection, the life it brings and how that life today is resident in us.
This month, we will be exploring the power of resurrection. Let me give you a quick summary: Our scripture is a story of a family that Jesus had a relationship with. One day, he heard that their brother Lazarus was sick and he delayed for few more days. As at the time he got there, Lazarus was already dead and buried for four days. Martha, one of the sisters of Lazarus said to Jesus, “I wish you where here earlier, our brother probably would have lived” Jesus said to her in verse 23: Your brother will rise again and then she replied Jesus and said: Sure! I know, but that will be on the resurrection morning.
At this time, Martha was sure all hope was lost until they meet again at the resurrection morning. But immediately Jesus looked at her and said I am the resurrection and the life. That is where we focus this month. Martha thinks there will be a resurrection but certainly not now. Jesus looked at her and said, this resurrection you are looking forward to is right here with you, I am the resurrection and the life.
Beloved, resurrection is not an event, but a person. This person carries life and what resurrection represents is life. Anytime you here the word resurrection, it means life to the dead. Jesus rose on the third day to distribute life like he promised in John 10:10. …I came that u might have life and have it abundantly. I am glad to announce to you, this life is resident in you. You carry the life of Christ in your humanity, resurrection puts an end to the reign of death.
As you begin a new month, the resurrection power is activated in your life. Whatsoever is hanging in the balance in your life, whatsoever is struggling for breath in your life, by the power of resurrection life has come. This month you carry the life of Christ in you, you are not permitted to be sick, you are not permitted to be poor, nothing is permitted to die in your hands and as a matter of fact, dead things will jerk back to life as they come in contact with you this month. You carry the life of Christ, sickness cannot survive in your body. This month as you face life, with this might of Christ within you, everything will begin to work for your good. Happy new month, enjoy abundant life this month.
