Scripture: Isaiah 57:7
For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee”.
The question remains: Can’t the people of the mighty be delivered? Can the lawful captive be set free? While this questions are top in your mind, you must understand that the answer is not logical. It is not of human disposition but purely at God’s discretion.
This is where we explore the POWER OF MERCY. In Romans 9:15, the bible said: I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy… Mercy is God’s discretion. Mercy doesn’t judge reasons, it doesn’t judge opinion, it’s doesn’t take counsel from accusers neither does it seek family and friends opinion. It acts purely on God’s sovereignty.
When you get overwhelmed, confused about a situation, when you don’t know what to do, because you have done all you can, then His mercies are your last and only hope. Our text reads: “For a moment have I forgotten you…”What will make God forget us? Only one thing could course that: SIN. The scripture said “His hands are not shot that he can not reach us, his eyes are not blind, that he can not see our pain, but SIN has place a demarcation.” Sin is the only thing that can turn God’s face away from us. But, I am glad because there is something call mercy. It is the power of mercy. He said “with great mercies will he gather us…”
Praise God beloved, there is still hope, whether this pain is self inflicted, foundation inflicted or enemies inflicted, today, with great mercy help has come. You are breaking out of that captivity, you are coming out of that cage, mercy is bringing you and your family deliverance. It is a new season for you. Congratulations! Mercy will speak for you today like it spoke for blind bartimaeus.
