Scripture: Proverbs 21:21 – Niv
“He that pursueth after righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.”
It’s a season of love and I want to begin by celebrating the gift of love and also pray for you that you will experience the beauty of love this season. Let me make something very clear this morning. For me, February 14th is not about man, it’s about the word “Love”. So, what we are celebrating is the love. Love is a big word and it is the reason we are all here today. But it is unfortunate that many persons don’t understand what True Love is. Most times, we are only used to the feelings we get from the love professed to us by the people around. We understand the emotions the feelings of love but we still don’t know what TRUE LOVE is. As you celebrate love, keep this in your heart. The scripture in our text made a bold emphasis on what true love is and when we find this true love it benefits. “He that pusueth after Righteousness and love.” This word Righteousness is significant. He that pursueth righteousness and love, Righteousness is God’s gift, it’s the nature of Christ used to exchange our nature of sin. 2Corintians 5:21 – If righteousness is a nature, it means it’s not what the eyes sees because it’s a seed in our inside, then it’s also very important that you know love is a fruit. Galatians 5:22 – The fruit of the spirit is love... If love is a fruits, this tells us that the fruit of righteousness is love. The proof you are righteous is the love you show to others. True Love is more than a feeling, it’s a nature.
True love can only be upon the foundation of righteousness. No man can says he truely loves when he takes God out of love. 1 John 4:8 says: God is love. Love has its foundation in God and no man can live this God character outside of God. The love of this world only create feelings that most times doesn’t last. Love produced by righteousness is of eternal value. True Love 💕 is on the premise of righteousness, any love outside God, give you temporary satisfaction, as we celebrate love, let’s give and receive love that is the fruit of righteousness. I like our text, it said, “if you pursue righteousness and love, you will find life, prosperity and honor” The benefit of a righteous love is life, prosperity and honor. As you go out today, for this kind of love, may you find life, may heaven prosper the works of your hand this week and may all your effort be crown with honor. As it is your week of love, God wil bring men to your way that will express love to you and fight your battles this week. May you meet genuine helpers this week. Congratulations.
Declaration
I declare, today I receive grace to live a life of love. This week, I carry me the nature of God and His nature of love. 💕 This week love dominates my actions. Life, prosperity and honor is my portion. My day is blessed.
